In my work reluctance to do something that will work explains why people continue to seek something new. They read new books, they try new diets (witness Atkins, now South Beach Diet), they ask each other (usually their overweight friends) what they are doing (why not ask someone without a weight problem instead.). The answer is they don’t really want to make a change for the better, they just want the easy fix.
Modifying your behavior can be successful, but it can also be difficult because even though we want to change, it seems that despite our best efforts, we still find ourselves craving the same things, day after day. It is the ‘how’ that stops us. How can we change a behavior that is a habitual response. How can we stop doing what we don’t want to do. There are literally thousands of diet and weight loss books and most offer nothing more useful than the ‘eat less, exercise more’ advice. If it were simply a matter of doing what we know we should do, there would be no obesity epidemic, but it’s not that simple. We need to know HOW.
Give me a pill, a simple food plan, make it easy for me, and I’ll do it. I can keep on any plan for the short-term, lose some weight, then as I’m gaining it back I can just blame myself. It’s my fault for stopping the diet. It’s my fault, for not staying on the plan. Read more on Using Eft

Repeat tapping through the script until you can feel a shift to a more understanding and compassionate mindset towards yourself. Also tap on any childhood memories that may arise to remind you of a hard-to-please parent or teacher or a critical someone who had influence over you. Come back and do this exercise whenever you feel like you’ve got into that hypercritical state again.
We’ve all heard it. Yes, this is the sound of our inner critic that has the self-proclaimed duty to drive us towards perfection by means of constant quibbling. This voice sounds especially strong when we are faced with a stressful situation. While it makes sense to have an inner compass that directs us to behave in the best way possible, too much of nit picking weakens our self-esteem. It makes us unsure of any action we take. Since I like to use a lot of visualization while tapping, along with exaggerating the circumstances, tapping is a very creative process. We tapped on Lisa envisioning herself as a lioness during her game. She saw herself swaggering with a confident stance, keenly aware of her surroundings with a heightened sixth sense, protecting her territory from any negativity or distractions.
Athletes working toward BIG goals, regardless of their sport, face unforeseen obstacles. It’s not that they are unworthy of meeting their goals. Exactly the opposite. Obstacles and failure are powerful teaching tools when approached with the right mindset. It shows that these athletes are stretching themselves, taking risks, as they are actively pursuing their goals. It is just a matter of putting that into perspective.

I was having a very tough time back then and was a constant crier, I would literally cry at a drop of a hat and just felt hopeless most of the time. The crying was just so annoying and it made me feel worse, weak and just a big cry baby. I had a lot of emotional issues underneath the crying that I sorted out much later on, but Using Eft to stop the crying was just incredible.
EFT is something you don’t necessarily need many sessions of, but after meeting Chloe, I find that at least 4-5 would be really beneficial as she just really gets into the problem and helps you to break down what really lies underneath. Sometimes choosing the correct statements is quite difficult – or you can sort one layer of the issue out but you still need to fix another layer within that same problem. Dear Noreen: Love these exercises and I am amazed at how the sensitivity of the body directly and proportionally matches the tapping effect. Really would like to know how this works exactly, as it seems it is an ancient healing art. How the healing process over-rides the mind’s sometimes self-defeating mechanism by resetting and reconnecting with the soul’s intent and miraculous alignment of spirit within the body’s memories and where each individual emotion is stored.
